The piece produced by Talin Hazbar, Earth Readings, whose mud bricks each represent a testimony, a link between the residents and the landscapes, the ground, and the rock, is a perfect example of this merging of art and local populations.
« Through her work, Talin shows the inhabitants that they are themselves key players in this architecture that is being rebuilt, as their very memory is incorporated into it, and she shows the developers, archaeologists, and architects that the town is not simply walls and structures but bricks of life and memory. The idea of saying this, revealing it, narrating it, is also one of the keys to this artistic accompaniment. This is why we're doing this work : to show how the population is a key player in development, and how this development must grasp that it works as an extension of the design of the people who live there. »
