Each suite is made up of a very simple platform, with a masonry structure, the color and material of which are in tune with the surrounding rocks. Various layers of sand-coloured canvas were used to create natural ventilation between the roof of the suites and the tent, as well as protection from the desert sun. This three-level design generates soft rooflines that help integrate the architecture into the landscape. The use of local resources, objects and other artefacts derived from local craftsmanship help contribute to reducing the overall carbon footprint of the project. Indigenous plants from the region that are adapted to the desert climate have been integrated into the landscaping. Specific irrigation techniques have also been used to guide rainwater to micro-catchment gardens, intended to support the vegetation of the site. This also includes flood protection for use during periods of heavy rainfall.
