The overall understanding of the oasis, and in particular its evolution over time, is a major object of study for the AlUla Oasis Research program in order to promote its sustainable revitalization. Four multi-year research projects are currently being carried out in connection with the issues of water, anthropology, date palm biodiversity and soils.
