In Dadan, around thirty international researchers are working to unravel the mysteries that still surround the site. Across the five sectors of the excavation, archaeologists but also experts in charge of the study of the movable finds, are working closely together. A team dedicated to pottery is working to identify antique tableware and from it draws up a typo-chronology. Another team, dedicated to the study of animal bones, collects information on food consumption, animal husbandry, and even certain funerary and religious practices.

Conservators focus on the stabilization and restoration of the objects from the soundings. All discoveries undergo preliminary processing on site: they are recorded, photographed, documented, before the “post-excavation” phase of study and analysis, carried out in France.
