The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has signed a contract with Alstom, the world leader in integrated transport systems, for its pioneering tram project along the longest powerline-free tram line in the world. Powered by battery alone, this turnkey, fully integrated tram system will consist of 20 state-of-the-art Citadis B trainsets. The 22.4 km line will serve 17 stations built in strategic locations and will connect the UNESCO World Heritage sites of AlUla, historic oasis towns and contemporary urban centers.
