As the ancient capital of the kingdoms of Dadan and Lihyan in the first millennium BC, the Khuryabah site is blessed with exceptional archaeological treasures: necropolises, the sanctuary of Dhu-Ghabat, Late Antiquity and Islamic buildings and dwellings. Since 2019, the Saudi-French Dadan Archaeological Project (DAP), co-led by the CNRS and King Saud University in Riyadh, has been studying these remains extensively. Particularly striking discoveries include the colossus of Dadan, an impressive and remarkably preserved Lihyanite statue from the sanctuary, now exhibited at the Musée du Louvre in Paris.
